Over New Year's, we traveled to see good friends in Rochester, NY. Their family mirrors ours, with the exception that their youngest is an adorable little girl. We spent time in her room marveling at pink, dolls, and her jewelry. She was so proud to show me and since I don't have any little girls at home, I spent lots of time soaking in her giggles.
In the evenings, I pulled out some cross stitch I was working on to go sit by the fire. I had an instant little buddy who asked lots of questions about what I was doing. I found some spare supplies in my own embroidery pouch, and we began working on a little project for her. She was proud to show her brothers and my boys her "stitching". My boys all have their own embroidery projects they work on from time to time of sports motifs, but they don't seem to get the kick out of it that this little girl did.
Success! I had recruited a newbie. :)
My little recruit had her 4th birthday on Friday. I sent along this embroidery pouch for her to store her sewing supplies and whatever else she fancies. I loved making this pouch in all it's pinky glory with pom poms and a Suzy Ultman panel to boot.
