Have you heard of QuiltAlong.net?

Apr 6, 2015
Pin It Have you had a chance to browse QuiltAlong.net?  If you've never been to QuiltAlong.net before, Terri Ann had the wonderful idea to host a site for those of us who enjoy a good quilt along (QAL).  The site is a directory of current and past quilt alongs, along with a list of sewing or quilting link parties.  The site launched in January of this year.

Sound up your alley? QuiltAlong.net showcases and catalogs QALs that are both free and paid patterns.  It's a great reference if you're looking to join a group project.  Each QAL can be clicked - the detail page shows a photo of the project, a brief description, lists the cost if any, tells you where to find out all the details, and shows Instagram photos of people who are sewing along.  Pretty fly I think.  Here's Moccasin's page for example.

If you've never participated in a QAL before, it's a MUST!!  Sewing in a group (even virtually online) is such fun.  You get to see what colors others choose and there are usually group message boards where you can ask questions and get to know the other sewists.

Today, I am being featured on the QuiltAlong.net blog.  There's a little interview on how I got started hosting Block of the Month Clubs and my design inspiration for BOMs.  Check it out if you have a chance.

Thanks so much to Terri Ann for featuring my BOM programs on the site.

If you're looking to stay up-to-date with online QALs, you can sign up for the site's newsletter too.

  2. This is wonderful! I have not done a QAL simply because I find it overwhelming when it's random blogs I come across them on and then I lose track of who is hosting, what is next, where I link, etc. Thanks so much for the new resource!

  3. Thanks for the shout out AnneMarie and participating in my first Q&A! I'm so excited to be working on a project that so many other quilters will find helpful cause I agree doing at least one sewing with a group activity is a must; it is such a great motivator.
