Goodbye 2013 / Hello 2014

Jan 1, 2014
Pin It 2013 was a big year for me.  This past year, I finally took the steps necessary to formalize Gen X Quilters as a business.  As much as I had dreaded and put off filling out all those forms and fees to make things official, I am so happy I did.  I cannot express my gratitude to you, my readers, who have helped this happen.  I absolutely love creating and designing, and now I hope to develop Gen X Quilters into an even better resource in the coming year.  Thank you so much for your comments and support, as we have settled into our home and are raising our three young boys.

I always to have so many ideas for projects - and it feels like only a few come to fruition.  When I look back the projects I have completed this year, it seems as though I've got more on this list than I remember!

This year brought my first magazine publication, Horsefly, and another pattern Ripple.  I also had blocks in Quiltmaker's 100 Blocks Vol. 7&8.

For 2014, my goals are simple.  Grow as a quilter and enjoy.  Enjoy the process.  Enjoy each stitch.  Enjoy sharing my passion for this hobby with you.

Happy New Year to all!  May the year ahead be a crafty one! Pin It

  1. Hello! How in the world do you get so much accomplished while raising 3 boys???? I'm doing the same and I never seem to have the time I want to get all the quilting designs completed. Maybe I should do a look back at 2013 too. But seriously...what is your secret? ;)

    1. Haha! Oh, Jennifer - I think there isn't a person in the world who doesn't want more hours in a day!! I never feel like I have enough time to get all the things done I need to. As far as my secret, I don't watch TV and my house is generally a mess. But with 3 boys, you really can't tell the difference anyway. :)

  2. Incredible! Happy New Year and congratulations on running your own business! Enjoy!

  3. HNY -- what a great year in review! I look forward to the BOM and whatever else you have in 2014. Blessings, Jill

  4. I love seeing all these Year in Reviews! Everyone has been so busy! I never realized how much was accomplished until I did one.
I am so happy to have found your blog. I have enjoyed reading and learning from your blog! are my first QAL ~ which I'm so excited to start! New things, New Year!

  5. And I'm thankful to you for making this space such a wonderful space. Your site has inspired more than half my projects this year and has given me the tools and confidence to grow as a quilter. And this year, my big projects are 2 that are inspired directly by you : The Vice Versa BOM and going through the Farmer's Wife Sampler. You are a pleasure to read!

  6. I'm in the midst of sewing bee blocks for others today, so I wanted to make sure my seams were truly 1/4 inch. I remembered the technique that you gave earlier this year, and it definitely saved me from being off on the finished blocks. Thanks!
