A Stocking for the Wee One

Dec 19, 2013
Pin It I've been really bad about making things for my kids this year.  All year, I intended to make each one of them a new quilt and then what do ya know?  It's December already!  I felt really bad when we started decorating for Christmas and my oldest 2 boys have their handmade stockings ready to go.  The "baby" who is a whopping 21 months already (!) had none.

Operation Snowman started immediately.

I went traditional to match our other stockings.  It felt good to play with some fabrics I hadn't touched a while.  I used mostly leftovers from Kate Spain's 12 Days of Christmas line from a few years ago.  I love the change of pace with a small project and applique.  It's fun to do something different every once in a while.

  1. It looks darling! I know what you mean about intending to do things. I made a new stocking for my 19 year old daughter just yesterday. I've been wanting to do it for years!

  2. very good Xmas stocking, your house is going to be a joy on Xmas morning with 3 so very excited children, have a wonderful time with them, it is a lovely time for year when you have little ones, and to see their faces all lit up. Not forgetting the reason for Christmas in the first place of course the birth of our Saviour

  3. This stocking is so cute! We still use the stockings my mom made us in the early 80's! My Jewish husband even has his own! (so does the cat) I'm sure your kids will use them years and years from now!

  6. My kido's don't get a stocking until their second Christmas either. The first Christmas they are too young to care and I am still too tired to make one. :) I had to make one this year too! Hope you had a great Christmas!
