My friend Cristin, of Pear Tree Stitching, who I met through our Columbus Modern Quilt Guild, had twin baby girls back in April!! I went to visit her last week to see the babies for the first time, and to let our little boys run around and let off some steam. The babies are SO precious!
I decided a while ago to make a gift for HER. I know the babies and her older son will be showered with gifts from friends and family - but sometimes it's nice for mom to get something just for her. I made Cristin this pouch. These colors remind me of her - and since she'll be drowning in pink for a while, I thought she'd like it.
I improvised on the lining and tried to add some pockets. Sometimes I'm not quite sure why I just don't use a pattern for these things... but I guess it's in my nature to blatantly ignore existing patterns that will make my life easier. The pockets have narrow elastic that will hopefully help some some smaller items stay in check.
To me, this is micropiecing! Those are 1" finished squares - super tiny in my book. But I'm just loving how these greens, aquas and navys are jiving together.
