In August, I hit the Japanese fabric jackpot. See, that's the business trip that my hubby realized there is a fabric shop in the very train station he takes to and from work every day when he's in Japan. Only catch is: he usually heads in before the shops open, and returns after the shops close.
He just returned on Sunday, which means he was there over the weekend. And so, he spoils me once again!

Echino Ni-Co - 2011. Mari is spot on again! This was her pick. I'm thinking bag (hobo maybe?) and I want it made yesterday...

Liberty 2010. That's all this one says. I love the richness of the colors and it's Japanese vibe.

minakoko collection (by koko seki) for Lecien (pink panel). This is actually a repeat of a print he picked up for me last time he visited. (Not surprising that a guy who doesn't shop, let alone fabric shop, would accidentally pick the same print twice.) I'm considering giving some away.... maybe when I reach 1000 followers....
In related news, Mr. GXQ has recently been appointed CFO of this little blog here. I should be keeping better track of my spending, etc... but I'm just so darn busy creating! Actually, although I am a numbers person in most respects, for some reason I despise budgets. He's going to help me out.
To prove his... ahem, uh... dedication to GXQ, he not only called me from the fabric shop in Japan to talk fabric - BUT he also shot a couple videos of bolts for me to see. Too bad we have dumb phones and I couldn't see them until he got home.
But it made me smile, nonetheless, to think that my hubby is shooting video in a fabric store in a different country.... :) All for his crazy fabric-aholic wife.

Oh you definitely have an amazing husband! Mine probably wouldn't notice a fabric shop if one smacked him in the face! Love all those prints - you're so lucky! ;-)
ReplyDeleteAnneMarie, my DH used to bring me fabric from a great shop near IBM HQ in Somers, NY. Now my younger son is stationed in Japan and goes to Tokyo every time he gets a day off -- I'd love to tell him which train station that is!?!
