I finished up quilting the water pitcher quilt this week. I'm trying to improve my skill at FMQ and branch out from the stipple I always use. I started quilting without a plan (bad idea!) and made some mix of stipple and arcs or waves. Oi. I think I need this book or
this book
to help me out. *hint hint Mom!* It's not bad, but it could be better.
Today I'm hoping to put on the binding and hanging sleeve.

I never would have noticed the quilting "bad idea" if you hadn't mentioned it. I think it looks great! Kind of like a mix of liquid, and steam... I'm a huge fan of Lean Day and use her website a lot for FMQ-ing ideas, but also just used a 50% off coupon at Joanns Fabric to buy Angela Walter's book, and it's REALLY REALLY good!! She's at MQX, about 4 hours away from me right now teaching, and I'm so bummed that I couldn't go....
ReplyDeleteThe first thing I noticed in the picture is the awesome way you have your binding held together. I'm embarrassed at how much I've struggled with something so simple. Will be digging out my clips now. :)
