Pin It There is not much wip-ping over here... but I thought I'd still write what I've been up to...

Here's how my sewing time has been spent the past week:
Supernova quilt.  My 5 yr old snapped this pic of me binding my Supernova quilt.  Almost there.  I was pleasantly surprised when my longarm quilter called me a mere 2 weeks after dropping it off.  I couldn't believe it was done!  I think she must have taken one look at me and thought there was no way I was making it to my due date.  And since I want to get this quilt finished, photographed and submitted to NQA before baby comes, quite frankly...I'm in a bit of a rush.

Sidenote:  I happened to be at the hospital where I will deliver late last week for an appointment.     While walking through the corridors, several people stopped me to tell me I was heading the wrong way.  "Labor and delivery is that  way."  Groan.....  still 6 weeks people!

{Sew} Beautiful Bee Block.  I finished up January's bee block for Cherie by the skin of my teeth.  It's a Carpenter Star.  Isn't the fabric selection lovely?  I can't wait to see all of these blocks put together - the Secret Garden fabric is gorgeous.

  2. Can't wait to see the supernova!
When I was pregnant (with my twins), I had been in the hospital on bedrest, and at 32 wks they let me return home. The person that came to push the wheelchair to drive me to the car pickup area was so confused -- she asked why on earth I was going home, shouldn't I just stay, I'd probably be back in a day or two (she'd never seen anyone so huge)!
Enjoy your big belly, and these last few weeks!

  3. Love your carpenter's wheel block, looks great. Those last few weeks of pregnancy are always filled with odd experiences! Six weeks, not very long, you must be getting very excited.

  11. Hoping the next 6 weeks are quick ones for you though it always seems the end of pregnancy is the longest part.

  12. I know, don't you love the looks you get sometimes when you tell people when you're due? They're all like, "Oh!" with this look of shocked horror in their eyes that you still have so far to go. LOL. Yep, I got that ALL the time. You look cute sitting there doing your binding! Can't wait to see it all done and quilted up! Thanks for linking up to WIP Wednesday. : )

  14. That carpenter's star block is lovely!

I have some of the Secret Garden fabrics, but I've been umming and aahing over what to make of them and trying to work out if the big prints would work in small blocks. Looking at your carpenter's star, I'd say they do!

  15. Don't feel bad, when I had six weeks to go, a lady insisted that I was having twins or triplets. Enjoy every second of this bundle of joy you are carrying. Write down every weird/odd thing people have said to you, then laugh at them when you are holding your little one. Waiting patiently to see your quilt finished.

  16. I'm in the exact same place, just about 6 weeks to go, but I don't go out enough to get any comments. Yeah for getting speedy quilting time because of being pregnant! Oh and I just LOVE that Secret Garden fabric in that block! I love that fabric anyway. Thanks for sharing!

  17. Oooh I can't wait to see how your supernova quilt is quilted!!! Yay for hand binding! I'm *this* close to having the binding on my string quilt... then hand-binding for me too.

Sorry to hear you were harassed at the hospital... I would have given them a piece of my mind, but you were probably polite and sweet :-) Could have told them you're having twins and only 24mo along, that would have made them feel bad, haha.
