Follower Friday: Meet Amy of Sukie....

Nov 4, 2011
Pin It The return of Follower Friday!!  It's back after a little break.... and over the next few weeks I'll be posting some features on some of the fun folks I met at the Sewing Summit.  You know, you "meet" a lot of people through blogs, but getting to talk with them in person is a whole other story.  Amy of Sukie is one of those people.  Not knowing each other very well, she offered to pick me up at the airport when I arrived in Salt Lake.  I jumped on the chance to have a local show me around.  We met and instantly hit it off.  She is hilarious!  I'm glad to feature her here today....

Lovin' my UHGS!

Amy aka Sukie of Salt Lake City, Utah

Occupation:
Technically a CFO but I hate the title. . .how about Office Manager or
Administration manager of a Small I.T. company.
I have a B.S. in Business with a major in Accounting.  When I was
looking for a major, I just opened the newspaper to the want ads to
see what people were hiring for the most and of course, the first
section was the A’s and there were a ton of accounting jobs.  Yeah, not
a dreamy-dream day job, but it pays for fabric and that’s all that
matters right?

Significant Other/Kids/Pets:
Married to a wonderful man name Brad for 12+years now.  We met in
debate. . . and he kind of taught me the ropes of policy debate.

Married young. . . . and you’ll see why. . . .
My kids – Lucas 12 and Pepper 1.5

# Years Quilting:
Hmm. . . I’ve only been quilting/sewing for a whole year. . . that’s
right it’s amateur hour!

How you learned to quilt:
I learned a long time ago, but gave up and something crawled up my butt
last year and I decided to take a quilting class and my first block was
so awesome that I keep going!

Favorite Completed Project Description:
It’s gotta be my current finish is my favorite!  Everything just came
together on the quilt:

Machine(s) you sew on:
Pfaff Select 4.0

Your favorite notion/tool in your sewing room:

My rotary cutter baby!

If you'd like to keep up with Amy and all that she's up to visit her blog Sukie and/or flickr photostream.  Have a great weekend!

  5. Hello Sukie! Funny thing is that I saw her in passing at the Summit... and thought her first name was sukie and not Amy. :)
