Welcome to September's First Quilts on the First!  It's been a while.  We skipped August because that was the height of Summer Fair and a very busy time for me.  But I'm happy to have Kristin from wRIte iT DOwN here to kickoff the guest series again.  Let's see her first and some other gorgeous work!

I am Kristin from wRIte iT DOwN.
I have been blogging for a little over 2 years and quilting for almost 2 years.
I learned to sew just a few months before making this quilt,
I learned from many of the tutorials on different blogs.
I decided to try a quilt and I have loved making them ever since.
This is my first quilt, made in September 2009.
This one is a lap sized quilt made from Bonnie and Camille's
Simple Abundance.  I still love this fabric line.
I used a charm pack and 5" square off white blocks.
I did the free-motion quilting myself, also my first attempt and it is awful!
But I made it from start to finish.
This quilt is still very special.
Its loved and worn.
And somehow it has a big marker spot on it!
Probably from my 2 little boys.
My challenge with this one was of course matching up the seams
and the free-motion quilting.
I think I have improved so much with both of these skills over the last 2 years.
Lots of practice, lots of failures and some winners in there too.
These are some of my very favorite quilts...
My Single Girl from the Single Girl Quilt A Long
I started this one with the goal to make a king size quilt for our bed.
But it turned into a much smaller quilt.
Just 4 blocks put together.
I have done all of the work to make an additional 16 blocks
and maybe one day I will finish it.
This is by far the most challenging quilt I have made.
This is another favorite,
a postage stamp quilt.
made with Bonnie and Camille's Bliss line.
It is now at it's home in New York with a sweet baby girl and
I hope she loves it for a very long time.
And my latest big project underway is the
Thank you AnneMarie for featuring my very first quilt along with some others!
