Farmer's Wife Quilt Along: Sunday Update from the Farm Wk #3

#16 Calico Puzzle

This block came together very easily.  I. love. gingham.

#15 Buzzard's Roost

Nice block!  Hideous name if you ask me.  If I saw a list of block names, I would never second glance at a block named after a buzzard.  What's that saying about judging a book by it's cover?

Anyway, another lesson learned on this block.  Or actually, just like last week, it was more or less me happily plugging along without thinking.  I so cutely fussy framed this bird.....forgetting he would be on point in the quilt.

Maybe I'll redo him later.  Or maybe I'll just keep the character.

  2. Ohhh, I've done that too - with the pink Mendocino I was using, I fussy cut a piece for one of my blocks, completely forgetting about the on-point business. I still think yours looks quite cute like this! I love that solid you used on your Calico Puzzle block, what is it?
