In order to organize the Kona Your World Swap, I had to rent a P.O. Box for 6 months.  Now that KYW is over, that P.O. Box is sad and lonely....

Am I crazy?  Maybe.... but I think it's time for another fabric swap here at GXQ.

I am looking for your input.  What kind of fabric swap are you interested in???

I sent out a survey after KYW, asking what other types of fabric swaps the participants may be interested in.  Here were some of the answers...

Lovely fabric at LQS Sew to Speak

Another Kona Swap (I'm totally game!)

Echino or Kokka

Vintage sheets

Stash Builders (polkas, stripes, ginghams)

Color specific

Other suggestions?  Votes??  FQs?  Charms??

I have to admit, I am tempted by the Echino swap.... cut up charms? I've been watching Elizabeth's Echino quilt come together over at Oh Fransson...

But tell me what you'd like to see!

  1. I'll join in no matter what your choice, but since most Modern Quilters use lots of bright contrasty colors, I suggest you try to move people out of their comfort zones and do a Gray, White and Black swap...

  2. I have not participated in a fabric swap yet, but I love love love getting new fat quarters ... there is something yummy about just enough fabric to do something really cute with!

  4. I was reading a new blog the other day and she is doing a scrap swap where you trade a pound of fabric, anything you want to get rid of. Sounded fun.

  5. No matter what the swap is, I'd LOVE to be involved! I think that another Kona swap sounds amazing (I also missed it the first time!).

  8. I agree with Cherie. I missed the first Kona swap and I always love getting stash builder fabric. I also am lacking a variety of a few colors, like red and gray, so a specific color swap could be fun too.

  10. I like the color idea, you get to pick what color you need and then send some of the other colors.

  11. I feel so lost in rural America sometimes. What is echino or kokka? When I do a search, all sorts of delicious fabric comes up that are unlike anything I've seen here, so I think that'd be my vote, but I'd need a good internet source to buy from. Is it Japanese fabric? Gorgeous! Loved the kona because we don't have much of that here either, but now, thanks to you, I do :).

  14. I would love a modern FQ or charm swap! Those seem to be most flexible. I can't believe you had to rent out a PO box for your last swap!

  15. Last fall someone did an I Spy swap with prints from Spoonflower. I was so bummed I missed it! I think it was Crafterhours, but don't hold me to it;)

    Thanks!

  17. Echino or Kokka would be fun. I would really like to swap for the new (or older) HR prints from Spoonflower. I want all the prints, but It would be fun to buy 1 or 2 yards and swap out fat quarters. It seems less expensive that way. Anyway, any swap sounds fun and I would love to participate.

  21. I really like the idea of the charm squares. I think that would be so much fun to send out a bunch of charm squares and get some back. Cutting the out of my stash and getting some other fabric that I just couldn't/didn't add to my collection, would be so much fun.
