Blogger's Quilt Festival Fall 2010

This is so exciting!!  I first discovered how wonderful the quilt blogging world was during this festival last Spring.  But I didn't have a blog and only had to watch from the sidelines....  This time I am eager to participate!

Amy's Creative Side - Blogger's Quilt Festival

As I'm sure all of you feel the same, it is SO difficult to pick which quilt to display.  I chose this quilt, made for my oldest son.

It's a very simple design using large blocks with classic polka dots and plaids, focusing on a single fire truck applique in the center.  This is a queen size quilt and it was made for my oldest son as he transitioned from the nursery to his Big Boy bed as we prepared for the new baby.

Now in my mind, the part about this quilt that deserves honorable mention, is not it's design or use of fabrics or that it's my first attempt at applique....  it's the sheer fact that I looked like THIS (!!!!) while working on it.  Have you ever tried to fit one of these under your sewing table?!?!?!??  :)  Not it's not an easy task!

Thanks for reading and if you're visiting through the Blogger's Quilt Festival, I hope you'll come back soon!

  3. LOL! I tried to fit one of those under my sewing table once, and I gave up QUICKLY. (The fact that I was exhausted didn't help either.) I am so impressed that you managed a whole quilt like that!! You've got some quilting stamina, girl! : )

  6. Wow! That's a big baby bump! My DH gave me a six week pottery class when I was pg with my 2nd son, and fitting behind a pottery wheel was also very challenging (but fun)! Heck, doing laundry was challenging! Cute quilt!
